To make it easy for billionaires to order their first superyacht, Dutch shipbuilder Oceanco has teamed up with renowned designers from the yachting world to simplify the yacht-building process.

There are superyachts, and then there are Oceanco Yachts, super in every way! Most of their ships have grabbed headlines for being sheer works of art, from Amazon boss Jeff Bezos’s Koru sailing yacht to Steven Spielberg’s Seven Seas, the 344-footer superyacht H, the $300 million Kaos superyacht, and many more. These floating palaces have etched a permanent place in the minds of yacht enthusiasts but have also taken their own sweet time to come to fruition. New-age billionaires do believe that time is money, and the wait for a completely customized yacht seems endless, not to mention the tedious hours poured into discussions.

Aeolus yacht showcased in Dubai is a part of the Simply Custom Line.

Oceanco has a solution that simplifies the process and helps you hop onto your first superyacht without complexity. The Dutch shipyard unveiled a series of 17 individual 262-foot superyacht proposals that sit between 2,500 – 2,700 GT. Dubbed “Simply Custom,” the shipyard streamlines the commissioning process by taking care of the daunting details and leaving the fun to the client. To sum it up, they are doing the homework for you in collaboration with 17 top-tier design studios. The result is an impressive portfolio of yacht designs based on a single technical foundation, a proven naval platform by Lateral Naval Architects.

“We created Simply Custom because we saw there was a growing demand to build custom yachts in a new way. Owners still want the very best quality in their yachts and to have something designed and built just for them. But they have less desire to focus on every detail in the process. They expect to entrust technical matters to experts like Oceanco and our partners. And, perhaps most importantly, they want building a yacht to be simple and fun. We must never lose sight of the fact that yachting should be fun!” explains Oceanco’s Group Marketing Director, Paris Baloumis.

The Simply Custom lineup includes interior and exterior designers, along with some promising up-and-coming talent. Names like Bozca Limitless Design, Espen Øino International, H2 Yacht Design, Harrison Eidsgaard, Hot Lab, Lobanov Design, Nuvolari Lenard, Oceanco, Pascoli International, Sinot, Sorgiovanni Design, Taylor Design, Team For Design – Enrico Gobbi, The A Group, The Touch Studio, Vallicelli Design, and Winch Design will elevate the yacht-building experience.

“We have owners who are time-poor, and [some clients] have less desire to focus on every detail in the process,” explained Oceanco’s Group Marketing Director, Paris Baloumis, to Boat International. “They expect to entrust technical matters to experts like Oceanco and our partners. And, perhaps most importantly, they want building a yacht to be simple and fun”.

A typical yet flexible layout will be offered to the potential buyer, featuring an owner’s suite, six guest cabins, and space for amenities like cinemas, wellness areas, and multipurpose lounges, among others. “Custom building is a core part of our DNA; we will always create yachts that are uniquely tailored to each owner. And we see Simply Custom as a logical development for Oceanco, sitting alongside our fully custom yachts and Life Cycle Support refit service, which will always be a part of our offering. The feedback so far has been overwhelmingly positive, and we have experienced a definite appetite for this new approach to buying an Oceanco in an approachable, fun, and streamlined way,” adds Oceanco CEO Marcel Onkenhout.
